‘TAMBA’ an exotic Indian inspired restaurant who serves cuisine with an contemporary twist. After seeing so many positive reviews I finally decided to visit ‘Tamba’ restaurant for a special occasion. They are well known for their unique and creative style of serving common Indian dishes without indulging the flavors.
Tamba is located at WTC mall, 6th floor, HUB. This restaurant offers A la carte menu, business lunch, set menu and different deals/offers. In beverages mocktail & cocktail both are available.
Ambiance: very much favorable if you want to relax, enjoy food and beverages. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating you will see an attractive open kitchen and an fascinating well-stocked bar. A decent, stylish décor, dim lights to give an cozy effect. For outdoor seating you will witness an extensive terrace with an open dining space giving skyline views and city’s tallest tower.
What we ordered:
STARTER
Pumpkin Paratha: As the name itself says about the dish. A small size green paratha topped with pumpkin chutney. Taste was good but nothing unique about this dish. can try once.
Delhi Mix (Chat): This was really delicious, basically this is a chat based dish which is served & mixed on table with an added effect by pouring liquid nitrogen.
Kale & asparagus tempura: This is an deep fried, crispy food item which we did not like. The combination itself is not good. Kale & asparagus leaves quoted with bread crumbs & deep fried. It was too oily, bitter in taste and too crispy. You cannot eat beyond 2 fries.
MOCKTAIL
Passion fruit Pataka: Well as the name suggests ‘Pataka’ it did not do justice with the drink. It was a blend of Passion fruit, cranberry added with mint soda. It was ordered for my husband & he did not like much.
Mix Berries Mocktail: This was not in their list. I was not impressed with the mocktails which they had offered so I told them to get mix berries mocktail for me. Which was Good and infact my husband also liked it & drink was repeated.
MAIN COURSE
Paneer Tikka: It was delicious and tasty we all loved it. Portion was also enough to serve us (3 people). Paneer was nice and soft and curry was medium spicy as informed. A very smooth texture and topped with cream. overall it was nice wot have it with roti.
Bread Basket: don’t be surprised to see a bite size i.e small size roti. Well, they serve very small size roti. Roti’s were soft and good.
Service: Friendly staff, we were welcomed at the entrance by 2 lovely ladies who guided us towards the seating area. our attendant was helping to select the food items and had knowledge about the dish.
Tips:
- This is an Restaurant/lounge/pub so they have few T&C for entry, kids timings, dress code, offers, deals, reservations etc. so i suggest you to inform them before your visit or know about it.
- valet parking is available.
- outside seating area is open for smoking. So, if you are non smoker then this might discomfort you which happened with us.
- On different occasions/festive you can witness great music, DJ, Guitarist etc.
- Food portions are small so check with the attendant.
Overall, good experience but only disappointment was as i had done reservation one day prior for an special occasion but there was not special gesture from them being such a premium restaurant. it was not very impressive for me but after all each once has its own choice to make.
