‘KULCHA KING’ a causal dining, serving Indian/North Indian cuisines in UAE. we are not frequent visitors of ‘Kulcha King’ but it’s a good place for Kulcha’s if you are bored of having same sabji, roti, & dal. Last weekend we were in Dubai which tempted us to visit kulcha king for relishing some nice Stuffed kulcha’s.
So, we dine-in at Al Karama branch. Ideally, it’s a small place located on the main street. They have two seating arrangements one is as soon as you enter there are 4/5 table & another is upstairs where 5/6 tables are placed. The place is not spacious but provides comfortable tables & chairs. The ambiance is not great but fine with some posters/pictures, frames on the wall.
‘Kulcha’ a flatbread typically stuffed with vegetables or meat. Traditionally kulcha’s are not stuffed but prepared plain and eaten with veg or non-veg gravy.
What we ordered: Fattoush Salad, Paneer stuffed Kulcha and Mix vegetable kulcha.
Beverage: Mango Lassi.
Stuffed Kulcha’s are served with chole gravy and not be missed my favorite tamarind/red onion chutney which is served as a sider/dip along with your meal. It tastes sweet, tangy, spicy overall delicious.
Fattoush Salad: A Middle Eastern Salad. A mix of green and other vegetables, added with toasted or fried pieces of roti. combined well with dressing and herbs. It was a good start of our meal.
Paneer Stuffed Kulcha with chole gravy: Paneer (cottage cheese) my son’s favorite. we had informed them to make it less spicy for my son. Paneer Stuffing was nice, soft and tasty. overall delicious kulcha with a crispy and buttery outer covering.
Mixed Veg Kulcha served with Chole Gravy: A nice blend of vegges mix of onion, cauliflower, paneer, aloo etc stuffed nicely. Each bite will give you a blend of crispy, soft flavor some taste. when dipped in tamarind chutney or eaten along with chole gravy it’s just a complete meal for your taste buds.
Mango Lassi: a sweet and tangy taste which you will love it have after your meal or along with your meal. sorry missed to take a pic as my son was so eager to it drink it.
Overall: Had a good meal in afternoon. tasty and Delicious North Indian Dish.
Service: Their service is good as always, attendants were prompt and polite. Our order was placed within 5-7 mins.
Tips:
- This is not a place where you can spend much time and relish food or have long and personal chat’s. It’s a place where you order, eat, pay your bill and vacate table for others.
- There might be waiting during peak hours or weekends/public holidays.
- They are located in five different places at Dubai. So, check locations as per your convenience.
