Black Grape Juice Mocktail

Black Grape mocktail is my current favorite mocktail. It just delights me by its rich and vibrant purple color with a tangy flavor. This delicious mocktail is made from fresh grape juice, lime juice and water / sparkling water which everyone will love it.

Black grape juice mocktail is a refreshing chilled drink which not only looks pleasing but also tastes amazing. I love to make it at home so that I can mix and match its ingredients as per my taste.

So, let’s start with the recipe.

For making this drink we need black seedless grapes which are sweet(preferred) so that we need to add less amount of sugar.


  • Black seedless Grape – 400gms
  • Black/rock salt – 1tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1/2tsp
  • Sugar – 2tsp (depends on the taste of grapes)
  • Sparkling water / sprite / Limca – 500ml
  • Ice cubes – optional

Steps to prepare:

Step 1: Wash black grapes thoroughly in water and drain it. After this, we need to prepare grapes juice & you have two options to prepare.

Option1: In a vessel add grapes & 1cup of water or till the grapes are fully soaked into the water, boil/cook it for 10mins.  Add 2tsp of sugar while cooking and stir well.  Keep it aside to cool. (Benefit: you will get a smooth paste/pulp after blending and there will be no need to strain the juice/pulp from a strainer while serving). But if you like to have the mocktail in a juice form then you can add little more water and strain the pulp.

Option2: Blend the washed grapes into the blender by adding 2tsp of sugar. Sieve/strain the blended grapes juice through a colander/strainer. This process helps to remove the remaining peel of grapes and gives you a smooth-running juice.

Here, I am using option1 boiling grapes for 10mins as I like thick juice without straining. Once the juice i.e. main ingredient is ready.

Now, we will prepare the glass for serving

Step 2: In this step, we need 2plates in one we need to pour little water and another spread black salt. Dip the rim of the serving glass in the water plate and then in the plater with black salt.

By applying black salt on the rim of serving glass it will give you a tantalizing flavor of grapes at every sip.


Step 3: Now pour prepared grapes juice into the glass, add a pinch of black salt and 1/2tsp of lemon juice. Stir well, now slowly add sparkling water/sprite/limca of your choice and serve it with a fuzzzzzzzz sound 😊 (here it depends on your taste whether to add or not salt and lemon). In this recipe, I have used sparkling water.


Children will also enjoy this drink by adding water instead of sparkling water. And moreover, it’s a healthy and from the fresh grape juice. Instead of giving carbonated drinks or sugar-laced juices from the market this is a better option. For my son, I add normal water instead of sparkling water with one ice cube. He loves it…


1.  Add sparkling water/sprite while serving do not do it beforehand.                                    2.  You can mix and blend your own favorite taste i.e. if you like the sweet taste you can add more sugar or use sprite. You can also add little ginger or cumin powder etc for a more healthier drink.
