We visited this Dhaba style restaurant a few days back located at ‘The Pavillion’ Mall, Pune. So, If you are looking for Dhaba style north Indian cuisine, then you must visit ‘DHABA Estd 1986 Delhi’. This restaurant serves authentic roadside or highway style cuisines.
As we entered the restaurant it gave a beautiful, colorful, bright look. The décor is a nice collection of vintage collages, Bollywood posters, and artwork. The retro and funky look of the ambiance is the main highlight of the restaurant. They offer Indoor and outdoor seating area with very comfortable wooden table and chairs.
We Ordered – Veg starter and two main courses one veg and other one Non-veg.
(Tandori Veg Momo’s, Tiffin Panner, and chicken curry with paratha.)
Starter: Tandori veg Momo’s
We loved the starters, it was a perfect blend of spices. Not very spicy or mild, the outer cover was cooked well and filled with delicious stuffings. It was real Tasty treat with mint chutney.
Main Course – Veg Tiffin Panner
The concept of serving food in Tiffin was really interesting & we were amazed to see a nice traditional two-tiered tiffin.
So finally it was “Khul Ja Sim Sim” 🙂 🙂 and a nice aroma of spices was spread all over. Paneer gravy was served with Ajwaini paratha. Paneer was soft and nice but the gravy should have been spicier. It was too mild to have it with paratha.
Main Course – Chicken Curry
chicken curry was nice and a perfect blend of masala’s and combining it with paratha was a delicious treat. The chicken was cooked well. Only we felt the same that it should have been spicy. We expect at least non-veg to be little spicy.
Though we spoke to the manager about our concern i.e. spiciness. In return, he was ready to prepare our dish again by getting added spices but we refused to do so as we were hungry and running late. He suggested us that next order or visit just mention the level of spiciness while giving an order for which we agreed.
Overall it’s a nice place with a funky and unique Ambiance to go with family and friends. A very friendly staff to guide you with the menu. Their chief sometimes takes a walk personally around the Dining tables to take feedback from customers of the food served on their table, which is really appreciable.
Lows are – During rush hours the place is crowded & you might need to wait, we had to wait for 30mins. Pricing is a little expensive. service might be slow during peak hours.
