Indigo an Indian Fusion Restaurant located in Abu Dhabi (UAE). This was not our first visit, we have been here before serval times. Indigo is Beach Rotana’s Dining Resturant and has great Ambiance, choices for a seating area and food.

Indigo has a very beautiful ambiance. The interiors are fantastic, cozy lights and spacious tables. The décor is nice with some retro or funky style collections place on walls. Also, they play nice and low Indian music. They have different seating area which is one of the unique features of this restaurant. Firstly, you will be welcomed by a person with a big smile at the entrance/reception and the same person will guide you to our desired seating area. You can choose a semi-private seating area, corner table, table with an open kitchen view or if the climate permits you can opt for outside seating (courtyard) with a view of Maryah Island.

The Restaurant serves ‘North Indian cuisine’ in a contemporary style from street food to Biryani and kababs. We can order food from their ‘set menu’ or opt for ‘A la carte’ menu. They have 3set menu options the first is ‘kids set menu’ and other two are choices between ‘Veg set menu’ and ‘Non-veg set menu’. They have a live cooking station which can be seen through.

So, now let me share my experience

We were welcomed by the beautiful lady who guided us till our seating area. We choose an expedient table by the kitchen view.

As we knew and were super excited to have their complimentary condiments which are, bread pieces soaked in butter and served with three types of dal’s (dal makhana, yellow dal, and chole).  Believe me, they are so tasty that you cannot resist it.

For Appetizer, we ordered Veg Platter and we loved it.

Veg Platter (Appetizer) to start with Paneer Tikka, baby potatoes, dahi kabab, stuffed mushrooms, cauliflower, and broccoli served with salad and mint chutney(dip). All veggies were cooked well, marinated and spices were perfect. we liked all but our favorite is dahi kabab it was nice crispy from outside and with each bite it gave a soft mouth melting texture.

In Beverage (non-alcoholic), we ordered Berry Blast and Indigo classic.

Berry Blast, the name itself defines its nature i.e. mix berries. It was a nice combination of mix berries(blue, black and strawberry) mixed with lemon juice, syrup, and club soda. I usually like the sour taste so enjoyed it.

My husband had ordered Indigo classic which had different taste mix of sweet and sour. This is a well-combined fruit juice drink of mango, pineapple, passion fruit. It did not have that great taste but was just fine.

After Finishing veg platter our appetite was not much so we order Veg Biryani.

Main Course: Veg Biryani

Veg Biryani served with raita..yummy and delicious. A perfect combination of spices, paprika, veggies, rice. very well cooked, flavored, nice aroma very tasty. It was not spicy or extra added garam masala but a balanced mixture of spices, subtle, and mild taste. we loved it. 

In Desserts we ordered vanilla ice cream for my son..oops no pic my son finished it so quickly not even letting me take any pic 😊

So, we had a nice relaxed and tasty lunch. pricing is little high but once in a while, it should be fine. They have limited menu options so our selection of dishes becomes easier and fast.

Suggestion: For special occasions or weekends reserve a table prior as per your choice.

Offers, Promotions, and Discounts:  They have an offer of 50% off on Tuesday’s on the meal between 18:00 To 20:00hrs. please read or check their terms and conditions before you make any plans. Secondly, they also have 15%-20% off on card payments of specific banks (ADCB). So, you can ask for the bank names which offer discounts on card payment.
