Pune city the place I belong to is the second largest city in the Indian state of Maharashtra, after Mumbai. Its also known as “The Land of Marathas” and is a blend of rich culture, heritage, and modernization.

Pune is not only famous for its lavish restaurants and nightlife but also well-known for exclusive street food. These street foods or fast food joints are extremely popular among local as well as visitors.

If you want to get the real feel of this city then you must taste the tempting, lip-smacking, spicy food from the roadside stalls (street food).

Today I will be sharing one my favorite and definitely for many Punekars a street food which is very much famous and specialized for Egg dishes know as ‘Reshma Bhurji Center’.

This fast food center serves a variety of dishes such as Anda bhurji, Bhurji pav, Chingari, Takatak, Mughlai and many more items in chicken also.

Food type: Fast food.

Ambiance: As mentioned it’s street food so don’t expect anything great or lavish. A small seating area providing few plastic table and chairs placed. basically, it’s a kind of place where you come to eat and leave because it is a small place and people are in a queue for waiting. Though they have made a shade, kind of indoor seating arrangement for people. 

 So, what we ordered

Egg Bhurji Pav

My favorite, Egg bhurji as always was very tasty, spicy the way it should be, & prepared fresh. The egg was nicely scrambled and mixed with finely chopped onions. Served with Indian pav(bread) and finely chopped onions. Altogether an amazing dish. Must try!!

 

Anda Takatak

A thick gravy prepared with finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and boiled egg yolk, a perfect blend of spices added and topped with pieces of boiled egg white.

 

Egg Rice

A simple dish, nothing great but was tasty. Well-cooked rice and egg with a balanced flavor of masala. Each bit gave a very well balanced ratio of Egg-to-rice.

Cold Beverages: Sprite, soda jaljira, and mineral water.

 

Tips:

• The food items served at this place are spicy. so better be prepared for it especially people who have sweet tooth.
• Sometimes you need to forget or keep aside hygiene issues. many people including me find this place little unclean.
• People who are on diet should think twice before you go because the food prepared here is just irresistible that you cannot stop at once or at one single dish. Also, they use little extra oil, food colors for rich taste and look.
